Objective To Analyze and understand the research progress

hotspots and development trend of the speech disorders theory. Method This paper used Citespace to search and analyze the 819 literature data containing speech and language disorders published in the foreign WOS database during 2018-2020. Results The characteristics of relevant foreign research objects were concentrated

on mainly children from infants to adolescents. The research field included a part of interdisciplinary collaborative research

which was forward-looking and innovative. The research purposes mainly focused on developmental speech disorders

language processing and comprehension

the neurophysiological mechanism of language

and neuropathological mechanisms of speech disorders. Meanwhile

most research paid attention to the specific manifestations

assessment and screening of speech and language disorders. The paper also put forward some development suggestions for speech rehabilitation in China based on the work related to speech disorders. Conclusion Based on this

some suggestions are put forward to promote the development of localized speech disorders screening standards

strengthen the cooperation among research institutions

disciplines and scholars

expand the research perspective

keep up with the forefront of foreign research

and cultivate persons with comprehensive abilities

in order to provide reference for the further development of speech rehabilitation research in China.
