Questionnaires were conducted among 310 practitioners and 500 rehabilitation institutions in 31 provinces across the country. Combined with the training programs of relevant majors in institutions of higher learning

research was carried out from two aspects: pre-service college training and post-service institutional training.

Results

For college training

there are few institutions offering relevant majors

and the overall number of professionals is small. Different colleges have different emphases in their training models. The training programs of some institutions do not match the requirements of rehabilitation institutions

and there is a gap between the personnel trained by vocational colleges and social needs. For post-service training

the evaluation policies are relatively sufficient. However

the occupational talent evaluation and incentive mechanism need to be improved

because there is a lack of a standardized and complete industry continuing education system.

There are many problems in the talent cultivation of China's hearing and speech rehabilitation occupation. It is necessary to strengthen policy guidance

promote the development of college training models oriented to vocational needs

build an applied-talent cultivation system

improve the continuing education and incentive mechanisms

so as to make the talent cultivation in the hearing and speech rehabilitation occupation better meet the needs.
