目的
2

Objective
2
Exploring the impact of speech presentation level on listening effort in a group of normal hearing listeners.
Methods
2
38 adults with normal hearing were recruited
and the speech comprehension test paradigm was used with manipulations of speech rate and presentation level. The pupil dilation as the index of listening effort
speech comprehension accuracy and reaction time were measured to observe the effect of 20 dB SPL increase in presentation level on task performance outcomes.
Results
2
The speech rate has a significant impact on average pupil dilation (

Conclusion
2
Increasing the intensity of speech presentation by 20 dB SPL within the range of auditory comfort threshold in normal hearing individuals can increase listening efficiency
however
this effect may not be due to listening effort change by altering audibility or arousal
but rather a result of altering auditory processing speed.
