With the development and widespread adoption of Internet technology
telehealth has gained significant recognition and application. Tele-audiometry technologies involve the utilization of information and communication technologies to deliver audiological services
offering advantages such as convenience
efficiency
cost-effectiveness
and automation. It has the potential to provide audiological services to regions with limited resources
reducing the cost of audiological evaluations
improving screening efficiency
and enabling large-scale
wide-reaching hearing services. However
Tele-audiometry still faces numerous limitations that may impact the accuracy and accessibility of hearing assessments. In this paper
we review the historical development and status of Tele-audiometry technology
analyzed its strengths and limitations
and provided a reference for further research and application of Tele-audiometry.
