To study the effect of oral exercise combined with family education on the recovery of language
motor skills and cognition in children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
Methods

102 children with ASD admitted from March 2020 to March 2021 were divided into control group and observation group according to the random number table method
with 51 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing
and the observation group received oral exercise combined with family education. The oral motor function (motor skills)
language and picture expression ability and daily communication ability (language and cognitive ability) of the two groups were compared.
Results

Before the intervention
the scores of tongue mouth movement
lip mouth movement and mandibular mouth movement function in the two groups were not statistically significant (

after the intervention
the scores of oral motor function in the observation group were higher and statistically significant (

0.05). After the intervention
the scores of language expression and picture expression ability in the observation group were higher (

0.05). After the intervention
the effective rate of daily communication ability in the observation group was 92.16%
which was significantly higher than 60.78% in the control group (

0.05).
Conclusion

Oral exercise combined with family education is more ideal for the recovery of language
motor skills and cognition of ASD children
which is conducive to the development and improvement of their physical and mental health and social adaptability.
