Objective To analyze the characteristics of complications after cochlear implantation
and to provide clinical experience and reference for the prevention and treatment of the complications. Methods The clinical data of 970 patients who underwent cochlear implantation in Sichuan China 81 Rehabilitation Center from November 2013 to November 2020 were reviewed and analyzed retrospectively. Results Postoperative complications occurred in 85 patients(8.8%)
and 2 complications occurred in 6patients
including 26 cases of vertigo
14 cases of acute otitis media
21 cases of subcutaneous hematoma
1 case of facial paralysis
21cases of subcutaneous hematoma
7 case of skin infection
2 cases of ectopic implantation
20 cases of device failure. Conclusion The complications after cochlear implantation are not high
and the long-term complications are mainly implant device failure. After active treatment of postoperative complications
most of them can be cured by conservative treatment.
