Efficacy of 100 Verb Task Training on the Naming Function of Motor Aphasia after Stroke
To investigate the efficacy of 100 verb task training on naming function in patients with post-stroke motor aphasia.
Methods
2
112 patients with post-stroke motor aphasia hospitalized in Xiangya Boai Rehabilitation Hospital from October 2023 to October 2024 were selected and divided into a control group and an experimental group by the random number table method
with 56 cases in each group. The control group was given routine speech training
including listening comprehension training
oral expression training
reading training and writing training
and the experimental group was given 100 verb task training
choosing 100 verbs commonly used in daily life as training target words. Before the treatment
each verb was demonstrated through action videos
named
and applied for patients to review before and after treatment; one-on-one verbal task training was conducted during treatment. Before treatment and at 4 weeks post-treatment
the two groups were assessed for naming function using the Aphasia Battery for Chinese (ABC). The Boston Diagnostic Aphasia Severity Evaluation (BDAE) was used to evaluate aphasia severity classification. The Boston Naming Test was used to evaluate spontaneous naming function. The differences between the groups and within the groups before and after treatment were compared.
Results
2
After 4 weeks of treatment
the ABC fluency
repetition
naming
reading
naming efficiency
and Boston Naming Test of the two groups were better than before treatment
with statistical significance (
P
<
0.05)
and there was no statistical significance in the BDAE classification between the two groups before and after treatment (
P
>
0.05). The ABC
naming efficiency
and Boston Naming Test results of the experimental group were better than those of the control group
and the difference was statistically significant (
P
<
0.05).
Conclusion
2
100 verb task training can effectively improve naming function
enhance daily naming abilities
and boost verbal communication proficiency in post-stroke motor aphasia patients.
