An Analysis of the Relationship between Neuropsychological Development, Social Adaptation Ability and Family Environment in Children with Delayed Language Development
Exploring the relationship between neuropsychological development
social adaptability
and family environment in children with delayed language development.
Methods
2
84 children with language retardation admitted to our hospital from February 2022 to January 2024 were selected as the study objects. Gesell development scale
Social maturity scale (S-M scale) and family environment scale-Chinese version (FES-CV) were used to evaluate the neuropsychological development level
social adaptability and family environment of all children. Gesell development of children of different ages was compared with S-M and FES-CV scores. The classification distribution of Gesell development level in children was analyzed
the correlation between Gesell score and S-M and FES-CV score was analyzed
and the accuracy of predictive variables was evaluated by ROC curve.
Results
2
The development quoitent (DQ) values of adaptive behavior and language in children aged 3 years and above were significantly lower than those in children aged 3 years and below (
P
<
0.05). Among the 84 children with language delay
the Gesell developmental of two level cases (2.38%) were normal
6 cases (7.14%) were borderline
47 cases (55.95%) were mild
26 cases (30.95%) were moderate
and 3 cases (3.57%) were severe. The scores of Gesell
S-M and FES-CV in the non-defect group were significantly higher than those in the defect group (
P
<
0.05). Pearson correlation coefficient showed that fine motor
adaptive behavior and language ability area in Gesell score were significantly positively correlated with S-M score (
P
<
0.05)
and adaptive behavior
language and personal social behavior in Gesell score were significantly positively correlated with FES-CV score (
P
<
0.05).ROC analysis showed that the S-M and FES-CV scores had higher sensitivity and specificity in predicting the neuropsychological development of children with delayed language development
and there was a significant difference (
P
<
0.05).
Conclusion
2
The S-M and FES-CV scores are positively correlated with the Gesell score
and both are important influencing factors for the neuropsychological development of children with delayed language development.
